Sotto le stelle e molto vicino alle stelle, sui bastioni del castello di Roccascalegna (Chieti), l'arcigna struttura di pietra che prolunga verso il cielo un inaccessibile sperone di roccia, circondati da un infinito allargarsi di colli e valli verdissime cui il masso della Maiella impone un limite bruno e immenso ad ovest, nove artisti hanno lavorato alle loro tele con lo scopo di aiutare il Rotary Club di Atessa ad offrire un campus estivo ai bambini disabili del Distretto.
Oltre ai diciotto dipinti, sono state create alcune raffinate ceramiche con la tecnica raku, uno spettacolo di fiamme e fumo che ha lasciato sulla superficie dei pezzi un lustro particolare, quasi che il cielo cangiante o la Maiella vi si riflettessero.
L'iniziativa ha visto convergere l'energia del Presidente del Rotary Club di Atessa, di Pippo Cosenza e di Silvano D'Orsi, che insieme hanno coinvolto gli artisti in una intensa kermesse di tre giorni.
ANDREA BAFFONI
L'immaginazione di Andrea è stata soggiogata dal castello: minacce spettrali vi aleggiano, un buio denso vi cola sopra come un sudario liquido. La torre, bianca come un fantasma in cui si concentrano tutti gli incubi notturni di un bambino, cattura Andrea. Egli si difende con il peso dei suoi studi e la leggerezza della sua fantasia che gioca con le percezioni di un passato arcano.

ANGELISA BERTOLONI
Senza subire la suggestione del luogo, Angelisa resta coerente alla sua ricerca della grazia sempre diversa delle ballerine classiche. Le fissa nelle “attitude” e negli “arabesque”, sagome preziose come merletti su sfondi d'argento o neri che le collocano in uno spazio che è solo del pensiero e del cuore, lo spazio immateriale che l'artificio del “danser aux pointes” riempie di bellezza rarefatta e fuori dal tempo.

PIPPO COSENZA
L'artista siciliano costruisce strutture affascinanti in rilievo sulle tele con grazia geometrica e vi inserisce immagini suggestive velate da reti di ricordi. Poi le sommerge con colori di intonaci antichi di paesi lontani e assolati cari alla sua infanzia. Forse per una specie di pudore, Pippo nasconde la sua fantasia superba e rigorosa e la fa calare in una realtà più modesta dove il tempo scorre e consuma e conferisce una diversa tenera bellezza.

SILVANO D'ORSI
Silvano ha un suo mondo d'ironia e di grazia che dà vita alle sue tele. Vivi sono i suoi incantevoli manichini, elegantissimi e malinconici. Pulcinella, tolta la maschera carica di pathos, non ha un volto e pensosamente lascia che il grigio consumi inesorabilmente i suoi contorni. Lo spazio uniforme e argenteo evoca un silenzio implacabile intorno a queste bellissime creature, prototipi di sogni e di emozioni che tendono a diventare evanescenti e luminose, attimi struggenti di nostalgia senza scampo.

ARNHILD KART
La poliedrica artista, che nelle sue sculture crea figure umane in isolamenti acrobatici e in spazi pericolosi di ironia e tenerezza, qui nelle tele intrappola la percezione in una rete di angoli retti, come una gabbia di pensieri in cui la realtà si nasconde e si perde. Il gioco è finito, l'esprit de géometrie prende il sopravvento e chiude a poco a poco la fantasia.

CECILIA PIERSIGILLI
Cecilia si innamora del paesaggio e lo sommerge nei colori vaghi del tramonto. Ma il cielo si accende delle tinte di quegli squarci di nubi barocche che erano popolati di cherubini, appena individuati nell'arancio, ed è incorniciato da un buio che sfuma di blu qualche parete. Il colore cola dal disegno a sospenderlo su una zona della tela e dell'immaginazione e a farne un luogo nascosto nel cuore.

ACHILLE QUADRINI
Un viaggio all'interno dell'anima umana è una tela di Achille Quadrini. Il pensiero si inabissa in un buio antico dove non c'è linguaggio né possibilità di raccontare un ricordo. La luce si fa strada baluginando come un pesce abissale, come un lampo nella notte, come un volo di lucciole in un campo a giugno, come un fremito della coscienza.

MAURO TIPPOLOTTI
Mauro vuole esprimere il respiro dell'universo con quei mille e mille colpi di pennello, con quei mille e mille colori simili a particelle elementari, coinvolte in un moto perpetuo e frenetico. La realtà è il fuoco secondo Eraclito che Tippolotti cita quale ispiratore del suo trittico dall'andamento ciclico.

DAVID URRU
Anche David subisce l'incantesimo del castello di Roccascalegna. La tela si increspa nei moti del vento e il cielo è percorso da fuggiasche nubi bianche. I monti si inerpicano selvatici e caparbi sulla tela, mentre i colori sfuggono al richiamo della realtà accendendosi di spruzzi rossi come ferite nascoste nella storia e il sole è un cerchio vuoto come la corona di un'eclissi incompleta.

Art laboratory at the Castle
Nine artists at Roccascalegna helping the Rotary Campus
Under the stars and very close to the stars, on the ramparts of the castle of Roccascalegna, the grim stone structure, which extends to the sky an inaccessible spur of rock, surrounded by an endless widening of green hills and valleys where the Maiella stone imposes an immense dusky limit towards the west, nine artists worked on their canvases with the aim to help the Rotary Club of Atessa to offer a summer camp for disabled children in the District.
In addition to the eighteen paintings, some fine ceramics have been created with the raku technique, a sensational show of flames and smoke that left on the surface of the pieces a particular lustre, as if the ever-changing sky or the Maiella were reflected.
The initiative has been the result of the converging energies of the President of the Rotary Club of Atessa, of Pippo Cosenza and of Silvano D'Orsi, who together have involved the artists in an intense three-day festival.
ANDREA BAFFONI
Andrea's imagination has been subjugated by the castle, spectral threats lurk there, a dense dark pours slowly over it like a liquid shroud. The tower, a white ghost's face where all a child's nightmares are concentrated, captures Andrea. He defends himself using the weight of his studies and the lightness of his imagination and gambling with the perceptions of a mysterious spooky past.

Without undergoing the influence of the place, she remains coherent in her pursuit of the ever-changing grace of classical dancers. She fixes them in arabesques, precious shapes like lace on silver or black backgrounds that place them in a space that is only in the mind and the heart, the immaterial space that the artifice of "danser aux pointes" fills with rarefied and timeless beauty.

PIPPO COSENZA
The Sicilian artist constructs fascinating structures in relief on the canvases with geometric grace and inserts evocative images veiled by networks of memories. Then he floods them with the colours of the old plastered walls of his infancy. Maybe for some sort of shyness, he covers his superb and rigorous fantasy and makes it fall into a more modest reality where time passes and consumes conferring a different tender beauty.

Silvano has a world of humor and grace that gives life to his paintings. His charming elegant and melancholic mannequins are alive and impressive. Pulcinella has removed his pathetic mask and has no face. He thoughtfully lets the gray inexorably consume his contours. The flat and silver space evokes an implacable silence around these beautiful creatures, prototypes of dreams and emotions that tend to become evanescent and bright, moving moments of nostalgia with no escape.

Cecilia falls in love with the landscape around her and submerges it in the blurred colors of sunset. But the sky lights up the shades of those baroque clouds that were populated by cherubs, barely identified in the orange, and is framed by a darkness that blends some walls in blue. The colour drains from the image and suspends it on an area of the canvas and of the imagination until it becomes a place hidden in the heart.

DAVID URRU
David undergoes the spell of Roccascalegna castle. The canvas ripples in the movements of the wind and the sky is crossed by fugitive white clouds. The wild and stubborn mountains climb up on the canvas, while the colours are beyond the call of reality and red wounds open in the hidden story. The sun is an empty circle like the crown of an incomplete eclipse.
